Barbie Murders Announcement!

Image
This weekend, I will FINALLY be posting new Barbie Murders shots for sale. I'm thinking two new ones at this point, but there may be more depending on what I see when I finally go through all the images. So for those of you who are big fans, the wait is finally over! And it only took me four years. D'oh!

What's New?

Image
Lots of things! And yet I've been insanely lazy about posting any of it here. Oops! So here's what's new and hot and awesome in my shops. You should buy it all RIGHT NOW ;)

Apples are Rubbish! So says the Eleventh Doctor, who I'm a bit in love with. If you don't watch Doctor Who, you won't get it. But if you do, hopefully you'll think it's terribly clever and wonderful. Hopefully. In any case, prints of this one can be found at Power Ups.

At Wilde Designs, I've actually added several new prints to the Texas Treasures section as well as getting up the second set of Oscar Wilde quote bookmarks that I mentioned before! I've got a few other new prints set to go up as well as some jewelry that I need to get good photos of to list.

Tacky Fab has also gotten a rush of new listings, and I've still got some photos ready and waiting to be added. Now all I need to do is get those up, then take a whole mess of new shots. Yep, there's still a TON of it…

Lemon Drops Treasury

My I Saved You a Slice print is currently included in the gorgeous Lemon Drops treasury hosted by ZionShore. It's beautiful, bright, and you should check it out RIGHT NOW and give the artists included some love!

Lynn of Les Bijoux Crea Lune
Etsy | Blog

Looking for unique jewelry? Something handmade, perhaps? Of course you are! Even if you aren't, you're bound to fall in love with some of Lynn's stunning creations.

Once you tear yourself away from her blog which features product updates, selling tips, and awesome giveaways, you owe yourself an extended stay in her shop to see everything. The items for sale showcase a stunning range from simple and ultra modern to feminine vintage-inspired pieces.

While I love every category of Lynn's work, I admit that I am especially captivated by her necklaces. They are just the right mix of fun and sophisticated. They come in a wonderful range of colors, and I feel sure that everyone can find a piece that will strike their fancy.

Sexism in Crafting Situations

Image
My fiance and I have recently begun turning our "animal room" (where all our snakes, spiders, lizards, etc. lived before we moved them out into the loft area) into our craft room. I'm super excited about this project, and we've already got the floor torn out. If all goes well, we will be painting this weekend, and I'm buzzing!

The other day, my fiance announced to me that we needed to start calling our room-to-be the project studio instead of the craft room. Apparently "craft room" sounds too girlie. I wasn't offended and I'm still not, but I was amused. I guess I've never thought of crafting as a girls-only pastime, but it seems that the world may disagree with me. See, Wes and I have always done crafty projects together. It never occurred to me that in his head he had to call them "projects" to make it feel macho. And do keep in mind that this is a guy who can crochet AND mow the lawn. Doesn't get more macho than that to me!

Melodie of Simplie Girlie Designs
Etsy | Blog | Twitter | Facebook

Melodie herself uses the perfect word to describe her work: fun. The shop is filled with invitingly bright colors and styles. She deals in everything from kid's clothes to adult aprons to jewelry.

The thread that ties it all together is a girlie, feminine flair. Even simple aprons get an awesome touch of modern style with great accent fabrics. and adorable ruffles. I'm especially in love with the black & white damask + red polka dots on the design to the left.

Want to give a gift to a child that they can get some real wear out of? Try one of her super adorable reversible dresses! Such a simple idea, but it's executed beautifully and will give even the youngest members of your family a real sense of style.

As a bonus to my readers, Melodie has kindly offered a 20% discount through Sunday, April 25th to anyone who places an order and mentions this article. Awesome!

Wilde Bookmarks Part 2

Image
I am looking to do another series of Oscar Wilde bookmarks in a whole new style. So what do I need from you? Quotes! Which quote would you like to see on a bookmark? The quotes featured last time around are:

The world is a stage, but the play is badly cast.

We are all in the gutter, but some of us are looking at the stars.

To live is the rarest thing in the world. Most people exist, that is all.

Always forgive your enemies; nothing annoys them so much.

The best way to get rid of temptation is to yield to it.

Either that wallpaper goes, or I do. (his last words)

Kaitlyn
Etsy

Kaitlyn is an Etsy artist with a love for gorgeously vibrant color. Currently she has a lot of pre-made drawings up, but she is looking to move into more custom pieces. Just message her for more info!

I'm a sucker for bright colors as you may have noticed already, so her work caught my eye immediately. Add to that the fact that she offers many of her pieces in bookmark form, and I can't help but love it.

If you love beautiful, bright art but are on a tight budget, this is the shop for you. Kaitlyn's prices are exceptionally low, and her work is lovely. This is definitely a wonderful place to begin building your collection of originals without breaking the bank!

Amber Kane of Fabricatedends
Etsy | Blog

Winter may be coming to a close, but it is NEVER the wrong time of year for gorgeous handmade textiles. Amber has a wide array of colors and styles to satisfy the pickiest fashionista.

It was difficult picking which pieces best show off Amber's beautiful array of scarves and wraps, but I finally just had to select a few of my favorites. She uses gorgeous, rich colors that will pop just as beautifully over a sundress in spring as they would with a coat in the winter.

More into reading than buying? You won't want to miss Amber's blog which celebrates all her wonderfully crafty passions!
