When did you open your shop, and what inspired you to start selling?
I opened in in 2013 as a way to experiment selling different things I made. I really enjoy making scents and sugar scrubs based on my favorite fandoms and I had a few people express interest in it so BAM, Potion Shop was born. Who doesn't want to smell the fandom?

What is your current favorite item in your shop? Why?
The Tuxedo Mask Sugar scrub. Honestly I'm really proud of the scent being so mysterious and masculine yet also smell of roses. Plus it makes my skin feel amazing.

What is your favorite quote?
It is never too late to be what you might have been - George Elliot

Reuse: Gum Cups Turned Snack Containers

Image
This is such a simple thing because all I do is remove the label, wash the cup, and then use it. But just in case no one has thought of it, the gum containers made to fit into car cup holders also happen to make the best snack containers ever. These are the ones:

We usually carry a backpack of random stuff for Pike when we travel - snacks, coloring books, stuff to read, etc. - and these things are the BEST. You fill one up with raisins or goldfish crackers, and all of a sudden you have the absolute perfect tupperware that's airtight and small enough a portion that if the child chooses to inhale the whole thing, they probably aren't going to puke in your backseat.
Magic.

When did you open your shop, and what inspired you to start selling?
I opened my shop officially last June. After having to move to Canada for my husband's job, I started to help run a comic shop part time in the area. I'm always inspired by passing art students at the local college, and they'd often tell me "you should sell your stuff!" so I began to! :)

What is your current favorite item in your shop? Why?
Probably the new piece of Edward Norton from Fight Club I did inspired by the new release of the comic Fight Club 2 for Dark Horse.

What is your favorite quote? "Have a compulsion to completion!" from my husband, in terms to motivate me to work my ass off. :D

When did you open your shop, and what inspired you to start selling?
In 2011, Jen and Brian started a little blog. In it, we gave away all our crafting secrets as we learned them, and shared our geek-life adventures. We had so much fun making things, we thought we would make some more and sell them, with part of our profits going to http://www.heroinitiative.org/, a charity that helps comic book artists.

What is your current favorite item in your shop? Why?
My current favorite item is the Harlequinn Messenger Bag. It's our first foray into designing our own fabric, and it's been a lot of fun!

What is your favorite quote?
"It's not because things are difficult that we dare not, it's because we dare not that things are difficult." ~ Seneca
