Shop Now: Price Changes are Coming

Image
Yep, it's price evaluation time again, and as much as I hate to say it, prices will be going up. What can you do to avoid paying more? Well, buy now! The beauty is that it takes me awhile to get everything restructured and then repriced on the site, which means that YOU (yep, you) have a few days to do some shopping and get in on the best price you possibly can. Woot!

How long have you been selling online?
Five years.

What's your favorite thing to draw/make/create?
I love to create everything.

What inspires you in your work? What makes you want to create or keeps you going when you're struggling?
I think creating things keeps me centered. I love to be able to make things for other people that truly help them express themselves.

How long have you been selling online? What got you started? Three months.
People liked my art and asked why I didn't sell it, so I thought why not give it a try?

What's your favorite thing to draw/make/create?
Girls with long hair, princesses, and cats and dogs beside them.

What inspires you in your work? What makes you want to create or keeps you going when you're struggling?
First it is an image in my head and the fact that I can't seem to find similar art. I like to make something with a bit of magic in it, like a smiling cloud, something that makes someone else smile, something to look at and when you see it, you feel happiness. That's what motivates me. My postcards don't sell a lot right now, but the pictures keep coming in my head, so I still draw nice illustrations, although I struggle right now because they don't seem to sell.

Summery Storenvy Collections

Image
Currently I'm in two awesome collections on Storenvy. The first, above, is made by, well, me. It features amazing artists and crafters (many of whom have been featured here before) like Amy from Heart and Soles, Natalie from Adore by Nat, and Amanda from Nerdtastic. Summer is here, and it's time to get in the mood for long days, swimming, and tropical fruit, so start with our Life's a Beach collection to get yourself in the right frame of mind.

Cody from Lu & Ed has also put together a stunningly bright and adorable collection called Sunshine and Lemon Drops. It's sunny and warm, and if the beach didn't get you ready for summer, this most definitely will!

Take a moment to look through the collections, then come back here and share a link to your very favorite item. I'll be right here waiting to see what it is!

Wilde Obsession: Sword and Scale

Image
First, a confession: I am a true crime junkie. I watch darn near every documentary that comes up on Netflix or Amazon Prime. Not too long ago, Serial (just season 1 - the military angle of season 2 lost me) and Welcome to Night Vale became my gateway drugs diving into podcasts, which I'd only listened to sporadically before.

I've now tried most of the true crime podcasts that I've been able to find. Thin Air is interesting. Someone Knows Something is really well done and breaks my heart. Casefile True Crime is well presented and the narrator is an Aussie and has the lovely accent to go with it. But none of the really hold a candle to Sword and Scale for me. I truly can't recommend it highly enough. The host and creator, Mike Boudet, puts together compelling stories that are most interesting because he lets interviews, court testimony, videos, and pieces of real evidence tell the stories.
Before you rush off and download all the episodes, a quick warning: things get d…
